History of Volnay wines
According to historians, the wines of Volnay were already known to the 4th century.
In the 13th century, Philip the Bold, forbade the plant ‘Gamay’ in favor of ‘Pinot’ to better ensure the quality of the wines. Later, his grandson Philippe VI of Valois was offered 72 barrels of Volnay by Duke Eudes, which were sent to the Royal Court.
Domaine de la pousse d’Or
The foundations of the house date back to the 16th century and evolved in the 17th century, at the image of the bourgeois houses made during the reign of Louis XIV.
It is interesting to note that the vineyard in front of the estate bears the name of the owner during the revolution: Pierre Clément Daudignac.
The history of the estate is precisely known as from the french revolution.

Patrick
Since the end of the last century, Patrick Landanger has owned the estate. He has made significant investments both in the vines and in the vinification and aging facilities.
1997
Benoît
He is joined by his son, Benoît, who has helped him with the winemaking since 2013. Their ambitions in term of quality are reflected in the deep respect for the terroirs they work. Biodynamic certification will complete this choice.
2013
Succession
In 2018, Patrick gave way to Benoît for the management of the Domaine de la Pousse D'Or. Also an engineer by training, he shares the same vision in terms of quality and whishes to continue in this process of seeking excellence !
At ease with the language of Shakespeare, he travels the globe with an approach that aims to share his passion for great Burgundy wines throughout the world !
2018
The biodynamic Spirit
Vines, cultivated in biodynamics, vinification according to slow and natural methods, wines aged on the lees for 18 months, of which 12 months, of which 12 months in oak barrels, a constant and rigorous quality of work, give the wines of the Pousse d’Or a great aptitude for aging.
